What better way to tour the cemeteries of southern Illinois but with historian Kale Meggs (from the Little Egypt Ghost Society) and Angie Johnson, the Illinois chairperson for the Association of Gravestone Studies? They have organized a two day event covering historical places and cemeteries located in southeast and southwest Illinois on June 8 and 9.
There will be hiking and walking to most of the locations. Some places are steep and muddy, so be aware that there will be some challenges with some of the locations.
There is only room for 40 guests on the crawl, so make your reservations soon. You must email walkamongthedead@gmail.com to be put on the list. It is free to attend but you will need to provide your own transportation and lodging.
