I went to Hancock high school which was once Lourdes high school and I remember there was a senior lock in, which was a sleep over for high school seniors only, and me and my two buddy’s decided to go and tell ghost stories inside the old chapel room, which is now the drama room in the 3rd floor, and I remember while my friend was telling his story, that we all seen a big black figure walk across the room and then went through the door. Me and my buddy’s were at first in a state of schock, but then after that we stormed out of the room and went down stairs to tell every one what we saw, but of course every one thought it was a joke, but me and my buddy’s know what we seen that night.

Just a little update on the Lincoln. I went there the other day with a friend of mine to see Dark Shadows. About fifteen minutes into the film I saw what looked like a man, completely black, walking down the stairs to the left exit, but only for a split second and then he was gone. A few minutes later I saw the same thing, only this time he was coming back up, once again, only for a second, almost like a moving picture, and then nothing. A few other times throughout the movie I though I saw the same man just standing around in the same place, and the spot I was sitting in became suddenly cold for no reason, and then go back to normal.

Someone told me Al Capone use to hang out there when it was a speak easy. Any truth in that rumor? I live in South Roxana in a bldg where the rumors fly that he use to hang out here. Since I am not from the area, I am not sure what to believe, most of his hideouts are listed online. I know I am off topic, but but this is kinda about the castle in a way lol

There is a large headstone with Bartimus on… I took a photo of it today! Some vandals carved out the birthdate, but just walk straight back, its the last headstone on the 2nd row from the east

It’s been really interesting reading aoubt all you folks who were at CAFB. I was in AGE school Sep ’70 – Feb ’71 & this So Cal boy experienced the coldest cold ever. The day I processed out, the wind-chill was at -80 degrees. We really weren’nt even supposed to be outside, but it was DEROS time & nothing was stopping me.

It was off to George AFB from there for 18 months, then Udorn Thailand, Castle, and finally Zweibrucken Germany. What a ride.

Apparently, a developer did eventually manage to build a group of houses on Mary Worth’s property, but the house nearest to the former farmer’s house burned down once or even twice.

I remember your sisters, my dad Col Schuering retired in fall of ’72, my senior year. I too recall the banging pipes . It became a comforting noise as winter was coming
